Morning dew, dancing leaves, crispy air and fiery trees.
Apple cider, pumpkin pies, corn on the cob, long hayrides.
Football rallies, the first day of school, Halloween parties, with witches and ghouls.
Shorter days, chestnuts-a-roasting, Harvest moons, winter's approaching.

SECIAL POEM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS!!
A row of bottles on my shelf
Caused me to analyze myself.
One yellow pill I have to pop
Goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take
Goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue ones that I use a lot
Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple pill goes to my brain
And tells me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to wheeze
Or cough or choke or even sneeze.
The red ones, smallest of them all
Go to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones, very big and bright
Prevent my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills.
Helping to cure all kinds of ills.
But what I'd really like to know...
Is what tells each one where to go!

Bobbing for Apples
Bobbing for apples, bobbing for fun,
Is the first sign the party's begun;
Dressed up like witches, goblins and cats,
With broomsticks and faces
and tall pointed hats.
Bobbing for apples, bobbing for fun,
Brings friends together, bobbing as one.
The prize doesn't matter or if applies are red,
It's the spirit of Halloween bobbing its head.
The tricksters and treaters in the moonlight
Have satchels of goodies, a bounteous sight;
Both costumes and contests
have big prizes won,
But bobbing for apples is still the most fun!

AUTUMN
-Rene Paoletti-
Out summer season has passed.
Now, autumn comes again,
With shorter days and longer nights
and softly falling rain.
but flowers still are blooming,
and on our many trees,
The leaves turn lovely colors
That flutter in the breeze.
Sports have started up once more.
The kids are back in school
We wear our clothes much warmer,
For the days are getting cool.
Soon, many costumed children
Will walk noisily down the street
And knock upon their neighbor's door
To ask for trick or treats.
And then we have Thanksgiving,
And with family and friends,
We sit down for turkey dinner,
And thank God for all He sends.
Although we have four seasons,
I have pleasure in them all
The one I love the very best
Is the beauty of the Fall.

ON AUTUMN
Autumn leaves
changing colors
brown,green and orange;
Take notice
in the country, leaves all around
can't even see the ground;
Till the winds come up
and blow them out

REMEMBER ME ?
my name is GOSSIP, I have no respect for justice, I maim without killing, I break hearts and ruin lives, I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am quoted, the more i am believed. I flourish at every level of society,
my victims are helpless. They cannot protect them selves against me, because I have no name or face. To track me down is impossible. The harder you try, the more elusive I become. I am nobody's friend, once I tarnish a reputation, it is never quite the same. My name is GOSSIP.

TOGETHER STILL
Let me hold your hand as we go down hill,
We've shared our strength and we share it still,
It hasn't been easy to make the climb,
But the way was eased by your hand in mine.
Like the lake, our life has had ripples too,
Ill-health, and worries, and payments due,
With happy pauses along the way,
A graduation a raise in pay.
A graduation a raise in pay.
At the foot of the slope we will stop and rest,
Look back, if you wish; we've been truly blessed,
we've been spared the grief of being torn apart,
By death, or divorce, or a broken heart.
The view ahead is one of the best,
Just a little bit farther, and then we can rest,
We move more slowly, but together still,,
Let me hold you hand as we go downhill.

Tips for healthful living:
-
Eat a good breakfast, including a protein food , every day.
-
Select high-fiber foods, such as whole-grain breads and cereals, fruits, vegetables and cooked dry beans.
-
Have three daily servings of non-fat or low -fat milk, yogurt or cheese because the high calcium and vitamin-D content of these foods helps keep our bones strong. Or, take a calcium and vitamin-D supplement.
-
Drink plenty of water. Although you may feel less thirsty as you get older, your body still needs at least eight 8-ounce servings a day.
-
Ask your healthcare provider about ways you can safely increase your physical activity. Also plan physical activity into your everyday life. For example, take short walks throughout the day. You don't have to have a formal exercise program to stay active and improve your health.
-
Get enough sleep.
-
Stay connected with your family, friends and community.
